You lay in bed, exhausted but alert.
Your body is tired - but your brain won’t turn off.
You’ve tried everything. Supplements. Melatonin. Sleep apps. Herbal tea. And still… it’s 2:00 a.m. and you’re wide awake.

Sound familiar?

Women Walking through Perimenopause over 35

For so many women walking through perimenopause, sleep becomes a daily battle - and a nightly heartbreak. You want to rest. You need to rest. But your body just won’t cooperate. And it feels personal.

What You Need to Know

But here’s what I want you to know:

💜 You are not broken.
💜 You are not failing.
💜 You are not alone.

Sleep is affected by more than just your schedule. During perimenopause, your estrogen and progesterone levels fluctuate significantly - and those hormones play a crucial role in sleep, temperature regulation, mood, and more. When they’re out of balance, you’re more prone to night sweats, anxiety, and insomnia.

It is Not All in Your Head

So no, it’s not “all in your head.” Your body is shifting. And your need for compassion is greater than ever.

Deeper Truth

But here’s the deeper truth: rest is not just physical - it’s spiritual.

Psalm 4:8 reminds us:

“In peace I will lie down and sleep, for You alone, Lord, make me dwell in safety.”

True rest comes when you feel safe. Safe to stop striving. Safe to lay your burdens down. Safe to breathe. Safe to be held by a Father who never sleeps - and never lets go!

Tonight, I want to invite you to create a different kind of sleep routine. Not one based in frustration, but in faith.

Try this:

  • Keep lights low & avoid screens. An hour before bed turn the lights down and avoid all screens (tv, phone, laptops, ipads, etc…)

  • Diffuse calming essential oils (ex: Serenity or Lavender).

  • Write down your fears, your worries, or anything you’re trying to carry alone. Then pray over the list and surrender it to God.

  • Speak a verse aloud. Let scripture be your lullaby.

  • Breathe in slowly. Exhale deeply. Let the tension melt from your jaw, your shoulders, your chest.

You are Allowed to Rest

You are allowed to rest. You are worthy of it. You don’t have to earn it. And even if sleep doesn’t come right away - peace still can.

💜 If you’re tired of being tired, I’d love to support you.
